Meet Jerrod Lucker

Hello everyone, my name is Jerrod Lucker, and I am running for Mayor of Rochester. Since my youth, I have worked with people from all walks of life. Nonpartisanship is in my very nature. In this world of division and political polarization, it is more important than ever to work together. I learned early on that empathy and strength are not mutually exclusive.

As a father of three boys and a husband to my high school sweetheart of 24 years, I know the challenges families face. I was raised working class, experienced poverty and even homelessness, and I have a unique window into the needs of our community. Having worked in our local schools and served in public service, I have dedicated myself to education, health, family, and developing human potential. Rochester deserves an advocate and a champion who can showcase our best and help us build a 21st-century city..

As your mayor, I will be a fixer and your champion to improve housing, invest in our parks, support small businesses, and partner with major employers. I want to expand opportunities for families, create new spaces to gather, keep taxes low, and highlight our city’s strengths. Rochester is a beacon of health, welcoming people from all walks of life. I will protect the rights of immigrants, our LGBTQ+ community, the elderly, the disabled, and everyday workers. Diversity is not a liability, it is our greatest strength. Growing up in the boxing gym, fixing my own cars, chopping wood, and being self-sufficient taught me that nothing in life comes easy. Rochester has been my family's safe haven. With world-class schools, amazing parks, and amazing people, Rochester is a beacon and an example for the rest of the country. When we work together in a nonpartisan way, we are stronger together. For Rochester, the best is yet to come.
